👂So have you heard the latest lie from Save our

👂So have you heard the latest lie from Save our Schools Arizona? 😳Apparently they’re attempting to scare parents and mislead the public yet again - claiming that the universal ESA expansion will somehow remove $1 billion in funds from the public school system! 🧐

Where did they get this data from? The Arizona Legislative Council? A fiscal note from a bill? Research provided by the Arizona Auditor general? NOPE 👎! They made it up!

Listen, we’re cool with disagreeing about something based on its merits- having a fundamental discussion or debate about the facts…. But that’s not what these anti-parent, anti-school choice groups do. They intentionally.mislead.parents.

Here’s the truth: in Arizona, funding has ALWAYS followed the child. If you transfer between public schools, guess what- the prior school doesn’t receive funds year after year for that student. Makes sense, because the school is therefore not educating a child that’s not in their classroom.

The same thing happens with an ESA. The money follows the child- BUT- taxpayers save, bevause an ESA is only 90% of the state funds per-pupil.

That’s why rhe average ESA award is only $7,000 whereas the average per pupil spending for a public school child is around $14,000.

So when you hear Save our Schools spout this rhetoric - now you know the truth!!!
